G&T plow into Oslo again!

January 2010 - The Grandma and Tim show hit Oslo's shores yet again. Yep it was ages ago but better late than never with a few photos. You've already had the best of the pictures I'm afraid due to a) Matt being a better photographer than me, and b) having a better camera than me. This was made worse by the fact that my camera was out of action due to a faulty charger so I was forced to record events on Mum's digi camera that has a screen so small I got it confused with a viewfinder! ;)

It was the first real time that there had been proper snow for one of my trips and Maud was keen to show us how slide down a hill on a floppy bit of plastic. One handed too! Show off :p

Oh... well we stopped to have a picnic in the snow first which was brilliant!

What a warm and strangely comfortable seat. Some of us had to make do with sitting on the snow Henny.

Yeah yeah Maud, I know that Papa's old broken camera has a waaaay bigger screen that Grandmas... no need to rub it in haha

Gluten free organic goodies

With a wallet full of readies I ventured out to the bank with only a minor detour via the Saturday Organic markets...

...and whilst I was there I bought 200 grams of yummy buffalo milk cheddar...

... and 6 gluten free buffalo sausages. Not tried those before and anything in sausage form is generally OK in my book. I'll let you know.

Car Mathematics for Beginners

No luck selling via other free routes so finally plumped for Ebay after having some numpty mess me around agreeing to buy and then not turning up and making some very pathetic excuse and offering me £100 instead of the asking price. No thanks.

So Ebay "buy it now or nearest offer" auction started at 1pm last Saturday and by 2pm I had achieved the full asking price no messing. SOLD! As soon as the auction started I had an inbox full of questions and interested parties. Before I knew it there was an email saying "you have sold.... blah blah"... I did a double take and then emailed him straight back to arrange the deal.

Turns out he was a jolly nice old chap with a dodgy knee. Needed a reliable automatic to run himself around in after his upcoming knee op. That is if he can lose another 2 stone to get to the surgeons target weight... he had already shed 6 stone in 3 months which is pretty good going - but as you can imagine he was quite a large chap.

Already got my nice feedback from him and everyone is happy - lets just hope that Sally Saab continues to provide good service to her new owner.

SNOW! Ugg!

Not really too keen on the cold white stuff that is falling from the sky... I wouldnt mind if I were to be skiing in the Alps, but London... no thank you!

Into the fold

Was up at Adams yard in Banbury the other day and met the latest additions to his ever growing herd of horses!

This is the gigantic Mylie (17.2 hands) and up and coming team chasing hopeful.

And this is the ever so cute and ever so much smaller 8 month old pony Freddy. He is a big bundle of fluff at the moment and very sweet considering he is basically a pikey pony that has had a bit of a rough start in life and a bit neglected. Although he might look like he has a well fed belly that is actually a seething mass of worms and parasites (poor thing) and it has been putting him off his food quite a lot. Adam administered the magic antiparasitic paste already and the evidence is beginning to show. Not pleasant to look at but already he is perking up. Adam says that he is a very well mannered and kind tempered pony so with a bit of encouragement will one day make someone a great pet.

Troubled Bridge Over Water

More walks out in the wild Worsley countryside... we went back out to the mystery field between the back of Worsley station and the thatched cottage only this time I decided on a different route... most interestingly via a large welly grabbing bog that almost caused walk abandonment! After successfully crossing the tricky section with footwear intact we needed to get over to the right side of the field ...

OK... well its icy but thats nothing these days...

Lets head for that bridge...

...erm... Oh... the bridge is out!

Fear not! Grandma had brought her mountaineering wellies and easily scaled the broken bridge, allowing us to get on our way...

...and home in time for GF turkey sandwiches! YAY!

PoGo Sticker

Thanks Matt! Playing with my Christmas present which is a groovy little PoGo printer. As soon as you print from the camera or even wirelessly from a mobile (but not the iPhone yet - boo) the print take just a few seconds to spit out an apparently almost waterproof full colour sticky backed 3x5 print! Its brilliant :) Have to start getting creative and make a little photo book - need a theme! Answers on a 3 x 5 postcard please

Do you recognise the views from all these local spots under their cover of snow and ice... they should be in chronological order of the walk so it might help you place them

Careful Grandma!

Chatsworth Road ... we could have worn our skates for most of this "walk" ... Grandma was also a bit miffed she has missed a legitimate chance to wear her clip on crampons... probably a couple more days left to dust them off so not all bad. Will defo blog their appearance don't worry :)
