Super shopper

Grandma arrived back today with Silje, Maud, Henny and Brand for their super sweet extended summer vacay. First of hopefully many pics I will try and post along the way. We had to do some first day shopping and Brand was tired but eventually impressed with his new laid back shopping vehicle.

Brand new birthday experiences

So this year for my birthday I took a trip to Oslo to visit the Norway branch and their latest addition Brand Henry.  Now a ripe old 12 weeks, Brand is happy as anything and was happy to say hello to his Uncle Tim.

The downside of having older sisters is that your hand-me-downs have a distinct pink tinge.

Super sweet baby feet

Having a lie down on Uncle Tim

Smiling at himself in the front facing iPhone camera

Another sleep

Grown up sisters Maud and Henny in their traditional Norwegian dress for the Christening do.

Brand is the centre of attention all day and rightly so!

Does get a bit tiring though

A quick pit stop though and you can be back smiling again in no time!

Have to keep up with all the older kids too with their fancy party games.

But that won't last for long in the Grandma sleep hold

Felling the beast...

Hello again peeps.. Been a long time I know!
Going to try and resurrect the blog - internet connection is getting mildly better at home which makes things easier but mostly I just need to not be so lazy!

These are the before and afters for the change of TV for Mum. Was a fun little project.

Before. Much clutter had been removed which made it look good - but no normal sized (in this day and age) TV is going to fit in that wooden monster... so it had to GO!

Stuff gone
Oooh round the back of the beast with the panel off for access to the over engineered joints.
You could have built a house on top of this unit there were so many screws, joints and supports.  It was only meant to hold a few books and pictures right?
All the bits.
The "I hope you know what you're doing look" now there is a massive mess and no TV
Bravely cutting it into bits with a jigsaw and putting it all to the car before getting the new equipment installed and working - every confidence in Mr Samsung and Brandson
The "are you sure you're sure" moment.
Dropping of Mr Toshiba TV with his mates at the tip before saying bye bye.
Just because I blog (occasionally), not because I'm a weirdo. This is the way the tip looks now.  All very high tech.  Drive up the roadway around the back of the blue skips to drop your stuff in to be recycled.  All very strict.
Also very strict is the "no pictures" rule... I got chased off the premises by a man in a high vis jacket and a hard hat - apparently it was more that his job was worth to let me take a picture... good job he didnt know Id been snapping the whole way round then!  Also in this pic is the end of the beast... bottom of the shot.
New TV working, check; Chinese take away, check; champagne, gin, feet up, check.  Yep I'm sure.

Micheldever

Hello, OK trying to get myself back on the blogging express and have to cope with an enourmous backlog. Summer retrospective from Easter is due and appropriate links will be forwarded as and when.

Todays adventure was to have lunch with regular theatre friends Peter (from Southampton circle originally) and two of his previous work colleagues Anna and Sophie. Sophie is house sitting all week for a family friend in Micheldever. Lovely big house and four dogs! Proper country living. It was a beautiful day and we had wine on the terrace in the sun before a big roast pork dinner.

Peter collected eggs from the garden for a bit of fun. Actually didnt end up using them for lunch.

Handed over carefully to Dinah, Sophie's Mum who also joined us with her husband Russel for lunch.

Post lunch walk with the dogs was nice. Just once round the local field was enough for a 40 min spell. Plenty after such a big lunch.

Peter and Anna check in the botanical encyclopedia to try and find out details of the Chinese lantern plant with bright orange papery globes. Mini quiz... any offers to the genus and species name for this plant? They are all over the garden at the house and are quite brilliant also when cut and brought inside for decoration in a vase.
