Montreal July 2009

After the fun in NYC I said bye bye to Adam at LGA and hello to SarahC in YUL (Montreal)! Hooray more holidays! It was hot and sunny there too which was lovely.

Moody? Moi?

Woohoo wheels! We cycled quite a way that day - Montreal has an amazing network of paths that were fantastic to see so much of the city and its good bits!

Cycling round the Circuit Gilles Villeneuve...

Hands on hips...

...and again!

Tres chic non?

Poutine - looks disgusterous - but absolutely delicious! Of course we went to the best place in the city to try it out - burgers were great too ...

...and I even resisted the bread!

More yumcha! This place served yumcha from 7am to 3pm every day! Brilliant!

NYC

Summer 2009 was marked with a 2 week long vacay in North America! First stop NYC for a week followed by another week in Montreal. My accompanying holiday adventurers were Adam for NYC who was tag teamed by sister Sarah for round 2 in Montreal.

Again - lucky strike 1 with the hotel room. Not cheap mind you but the double aspect room faced down the barrel of 7th Ave to the bright lights and madness in Times Square. Magic!

Central Park

... more photo ops

The hotel room view at night... the noise was incredible and I LOVED it!

The first day and we hit the ground running. It was Adam's first trip across the pond so all major tourist attractions were obligatory. Staten Island ferry first stop to get our free view of the great Lady and a cool trip on the water.

GLUTEN FREE BREADSTICKS and BEER! OMG SOOOO GOOD!

GLUTEN FREE PIZZA! AMAZING!

SOOO NOT Gluten Free but it came served on a bin lid! Brilliant!

We opted for the ever so healthy rib/steak/pork combo with unusual green stuff that I had not encountered before in the USA...

Corn bread - although gluten free(ish) is yuk

Hotel room view was amazing at night - I could stand for hours just watching and listening - it also helped that the air conditioner was there to cool us down.

Mmm Chinatown! Yumcha! Yum!

Whaddayamean officer I had no idea that the LV bags out of the back of the dodgy white van were knockoffs? Really? I cannot tell at all!
