Crash course(s) for horses

My new weekend companion Adam has a thing for horses. Here we see Trigger - his trusty steed of 15 years or so since he started riding almost. Trigger was to be my ride for the day as he was deemed to be suitably docile for a newbie like me.

He knew something was up as we got his saddle on. He puffed out his gut so we couldnt do the girth strap up and huffed around in the stable. "Oh NO! They are actually going to make this fat useless oaf get on ME?" I could see in his eyes... oh dear!

This is Bubbles. He is much more lively and only ridable by Adam. Everyone else is not suitable and usually ends up in a heap on the floor. Nuf said.

Good view from up here! Trigger actually realised once we got out and about how much he enjoyed this prancing about lark! We got out in the fresh air and he got to see beyond the confines of the paddock for the first time in over a year! He's an old man, so he doesnt get out much. He took me for a couple of trots although I preferred walking.

All over. He literally sighed the biggest sigh when we got back to the stable.

Extra chow for the good work.

I had half a packet of Xtra Strong mints that went down a treat too.

Bubbles was rather impatient for more mints and thought the camera might suffice instead.

Hmmm cake for the weary riders to build up our strength for the next days riding... I should have taken some for Trigger too... he was even less impressed to see me the next day :)
